Addis Ababa is the capital of Ethiopia. This sprawling city of 2,5 million inhabitants lies more than 8,000 feet (2,440 metres) above sea level, in rugged highlands.
Addis Ababa has also known as "the capital of Africa", due to its political and historical importance for the continent. There are people from as many as 80 nationalities, speaking 80 languages and there are Christian, Muslim, Jewish and some other religious communities.
